Starting a garden can feel like a lot of decisions. A simple plan helps you start small and enjoy it.
A few containers or one small bed is enough for your first season. A small garden is easier to water and weed, and you learn more.
Notice how much sun your space gets. Most vegetables and herbs need several hours of direct sun a day. Check the plant label or seed packet for each plant's needs.
Planting times depend on where you live. Look up your local last frost date, then work backwards or forwards from it using the seed packet. Write down what to sow, plant and harvest each month.
A simple log of what you planted, when and how it did will help you improve next year.
